Naim muso bentley HDMI problem

Hi,
I have my by Bentley for about a year and recently i have decided to use HDMI cable to push audio from my projektor Epson EH-LS800. Projector has got HDMI ARC port Just to use with amplifiers and speakers, so projector and naim connected, ok, next thing HDMI option activated on Naim, HDMI CEC with ARC option activated on projector, audiooutput changed to Arc/optical (PCM). Results? One time it Works, second time it does not. I have no idea how to make working one time for all. No ideas:/

In my experience HDMI can be very hit or miss (mostly miss). It’s all thanks to complex handshaking protocols demanded by lawyers for copy protection. First check that your HDMI connections are secure, and also try power cycling to see if you can get them to try to handshake again. Otherwise, let Naim support (support@naimaudio.com) know the make model and serial number of the Projector to see whether there’s any known issues. As an alternative I find an optical connection far more reliable for AV audio as no complex copy protection handshaking is required. Does the projector offer an optical s/pdif output?

I believe, not helped by several different implementations depending on manufacture?
Seems a big can of worms HDMI!

AFAIK There were supposed to be set rules but few stuck to them. A can of worms indeed!

Yeap, there is. On optical cable everything works smooth. I am afraid that my projector has not got so advanced audio settings as it is in TV’s. My friend has got Sony Bravia and Naim 2nd gen and he does not have such problems, audio output from TV to speaker via HDMI is stable and Works every time.

I recently upgraded my HDMI cables to certified ones from Amazon.

Look out for the “Ultra Certified Cable" label.

Made a vast improvement from using a Chord Clearway HDMI cable. Sharper, brighter and clearer picture.

Also, another benefit was that it was far cheaper.
