I volunteer at the Oxfam Music shop in Edinburgh and recently in a bag of cables I came across a 5m run of what looks like NAC A5 speaker cable however there is no Naim arrow or direction arrow. Could it be the ‘real thing’ or more likely some sort of copy ? Thanks in advance
Picture will help.
I do not recall there being arrows on mine. However, the dealer soldered the amplifier connectors on. There should be one wire with a ridge along it to denote the positive wire to the amplifier and speaker connection.

NACA5 is very stiff and either black or white. The older and much cheaper NACA4 has a very similar construction but is not particularly stiff.
Is there a small ridge running down one side, used to distinguish + and - wires?
Is there any trace of a Naim logo? These can sometimes wear off.
Photos would help.
I vaguely recall the first time I bought brand new NACA5 from a dealer it did not have “Naim” printed on it but, I could be mistaken.
I do remember noticing “Naim” printed on the cable when I needed longer lengths a few years later though.
(I’m talking possibly 35 years ago)
I think there are no arrows - the directions goes along the writing “Naim Audio” afaik. The writing wears of over the decades
Looks like naca 4… how stiff is it?
Susect you may be right . Not as stiff as my NAC 5
Might not be either,
I’ve seen generic cables like this,
You wouldn’t be able to twist the stands of wire like that on A5, they are too thick and stiff.
