As far as I know this Nait was never converted to a preamp.

It doesn’t really look like anyone has been meddling in there.
Have a good look at the inter-board connectors to make sure there are no solder shorts between the pins.

@Stephen_Tate the one with “leftovers” from previous owner?
I pulled off that thing easy, seems solid to me now, but who knows

Yes - that “leftover” 4mm pin would likely have caused major damage to the amp stage if it had shorted to something.
Unlikely it would cause the dual mono problem.
