Naim Nait XS connection to NAP 200 with Flatcap 2X

Dear all,

this is my first post on the Naim Community. I have a Naim Nait XS v1 with a Flatcap 2x v1 driving two magneplanar speakers. My goal is to upgrade the low end of the magneplanars by adding power. I thought to upgrade my relatively “old’ setup with a NAP 200. Could you tell me wether it is possible to connect the nait xs from pre-amp out to flatxap power out A with a SNAIC 5. Then a SNAIC 4 from flatcap signal out A to NAP 200 input. Would this be the right way to go? Or isn’t it possible at all to use the nait xs flatcap combo with a NAP 200?

Thanks for your help!

Hi, Welcome to the forum.

It will work. A very similar set is shown in the Nait XS manual, except with a Hicap rather than a Flatcap 2X.

Best to check the online manual but I think your connection plan looks right.

Yep, that is exactly how it should be set up. All you have to do is move the Snaic 4 you will already have from the XS to the Nap 200. But remember to connect the Source end to the Flatcap this time.

Thanks for the lightening fast responses. @kitfit1, what do you mean with connect the source end to the flatcap?

Yes so the snaic 4 cable from the flatcap 2x to power in of nait xs would now go from flatcap 2x to NAP 200 input. The Snaic 5 cable from nait xs to flatcap 2x stays in place. So power amp in stays empty on nait xs.

@Dutcheffects nearly a couple of weeks in, how is your music with the new set up?
