I heard that Naim ND5 XS2 is not manuafactured anymore? How about updates, is it safe to purchase Naim ND5 XS2 now? Or is it useless from two years now on?
I hope so, but a statement (no joke intended ) from Naim might be nice as a, we have one and b, it’s a fantastic device. Shame it’s no longer made. Does anyone know the background as to the discontinuation ? Maybe lack of sales?

Kimmo, over the last couple of years Naim started having component supply delays for the ND5XS2 that meant they had to temporarily suspend production (such are the post-covid realities now). Production was re-started but, supply was not good enough in the face of very strong demand, which must have been painful. They announced the XS end of life late last year and that the final batches would be built at the end of the year, although there may still be new units available with some dealers and distributors. The good news is that it’s fully supported and uses the current streaming engine.
For perspective, Naim updated the firmware of their 1st generation streamers last year for the new Naim iRadio, that’s a decade and a half after they were introduced.
