I know that the NPX-300 can be an upgrade to the NPX-TT, but:
As far as I know (please correct me if I wrong), the NPX-300 cannot be completely replaced it, and that’s because the NPX-TT feeds also the NVC-TT via a Din power/ signal cable.
My question, can I feed the NVC-TT through my Nac 552? BTW, a similar option was possible with the Naim Superline.
Just trying to reduce boxes:)
Thanks
No, the 552’s powered AUX2 socket can’t power the NVCTT.
You can power the Solstice with the NPX300, and those who have done it report a good uplift. But you have to keep the NPX TT to power the NVC TT with older kit. The NC 222 and 332 can power the NVC TT, but it is a lot better with the NPX TT.
I believe you can also have two NPX TTs with the Solstice, one powering the turntable and one powering the phono stage. I don’t know of anyone who has done this, and I would be interested to hear from someone who has, as I suspect there would also be an uplift in SQ for both the Solstice and the phono stage with separate power supplies.
Paulbysea,
The NPX 300 in my opinion can’t power the NVC TT, cause it has only burndy’s to power with, the NVC TT gets the power only from PSU IN socket (by a din cable) that the NPX 300 can’t supply…
So, apart from the 222+332, is there any way to power the NVC TT for those who are looking to upgrade?
Regards,
Ariel
I never said you can power the NVC TT with the NPX300, I said the Solstice. You can power the NVC TT with the NPX TT, which is what I do, which does offer an uplift in SQ. Also, by having the NPX TT with the NVC TT, you can use the phono stage with pre-amps that are unable to power it.
Right, I didn’t notice.
So, the NVC TT can’t accept an upgraded external PS…yet
The NPX TT is the upgrade for the NVC TT, to my mind. The NPX TT was designed to power the Soltice and the NVC TT, by using it just to power the NVC alone, I am sure the NPX TT is enough.
Yes, but for the Solstice package the NPX TT is not an upgrade…
Having two might be as they are only having to power one unit, not both. People do this with the 555 PS, having two, one powering the digital side and the other the analogue side. There might be an uplift in SQ for the Solstice package with two NPX power supplies, one for the Solstice and one for the phono stage. If I had a Solstice, I would try this option before spending double the money on getting an NPX300 for the turntable.
