Naim Olive

Just imagine the summer of 1990, most common music medias are records and cassettes, and you wanna take the great music out with a walkman or play in car.

There will be a vast majority of naim preamp owners, like myself, who have never used the lower bank. Other than heeding naim’s recommendation to have the output muted for SQ.

And there are others (such as yours truly) who regularly use the record outputs - think those who use recorders, or have a headphone amp connected

Took me a while to get used to having that lower bank on my 282 and now 252. Only use for me is to drive my headphone amp.

Fascinating. It does make slight but better coherence to the detail and flow.

Tape out for headphone amp on nac52 here too.

I also use the bott bank on my 252 with the headphone amp.

When not in use it’s muted.

Lights / illumination is off by default.

That’s a lot of green lights!

Not Naim Olive as such but I’ve bought a fully serviced mint Nakamichi BX-300e ( with later Gear drive) to record the best of the live Radio 3 broadcasts through my NAT01. Not a Dragon or CR7 obviously but the recording quality is excellent.
