Anyone have experience or advice on Nova PE ability to drive Gershman Grand Avant Garde speakers?
You’re more likely to win the lottery than to find someone who has both.
I was hoping for a more technical response
Looking at the quoted sensitivity of 89dB and load of 6 ohms (no idea whether that’s a nominal figure or how reactive) then they should in theory be within the Nova PE’s driving capability. Looking at comments elsewhere, those with experience of them recommend at least 100W/channel with 200W/channel being more than adequate, so the Nova PE appears spot on there. However, there’s much more to a good match than just numbers, so best to try the pairing for yourself.
I’ve auditioned the Gershman Grand Avant Garde and they are outstanding loudspeakers deserving of state-of-the-art electronics to drive them. However, they do not pose a difficult load to amplifiers, a Nova PE should easily drive them to produce wonderful music, with the caveat that it will not be able to draw out everything those fantastic loudspeakers have to offer.
Thanks for the feedback Richard. Given the choice would you pair a Nova with a NAP250 (DR?) to drive the Gershmans or just go with the Nova PE? Would the sound be equally good?
Thanks for your feedback. What would draw everything out of the Gershman GAGs? Nova+NAP 250?
No, if you wanted to use an NC NAP250 then better to partner with something like an NSC222. Do the dem and compare for yourself.
That’s an open ended question, the Gershman GAGs are world class loudspeakers, I don’t think they can be outmatched by electronics unless we are talking about the extreme high end stuff.
