Naim’s next steps

Hello. I used to be a member of this forum 20 years ago. How time has flown. Anyway, the purchase of a Nait 50 has reignited the hi fi bug.

My question is this. Given the release of the new classic series, how long do we think the “green logo” equipment will be about? And what other new releases are we likely to see over the next year?

Best regards to everyone.

Hi, we know that the Classic range will be replaced by New Classic models including the 333 streamer and 332 preamp as these have been officially announced by Naim and are due to hit the shops thus Autumn. That’s in addition to the NC products already available.
That only leaves 500 series products in the old green light boxes, so we can only assume that these will be discontinued/replaced later.

I’m not sure what they are developing but I do know that whatever it is has caused the Statement Streamer release to be put back until 2025.

What about the CD5SI, 5SI, XS3, ND5XS2, SN3 ?

The only one of those that’s formally a Classic is the Supernait 3. Nevertheless, it’s still not been discontinued.

Don’t they all have a ‘green logo’…

They do but they are not all Classics, as defined by Naim, only the SN3. I’m just being picky, as you rightly say that all have the green logo.

So am I, the OP question wasn’t just Classics, it was “green logo” equipment…

Well we’ve seen the NAIT50 so perhaps the fabled Cassette Deck is finally going to be released…

Roll on 2025 :sunglasses:

I really hope for a new Classic series integrated with optional DAC.

And the electrostatic speakers.

:+1: given the recent Chord Ultima Integrated (no optional DAC though) launch, this would be a good move methinks

Ah yes. If we get an FM tuner to please @graham55, then we’ve got the full set !

I think it is safe to say that all remaining products will over the years get replaced with white logo products. I do not know the order this will happen and I doubt anyone outside a select few within Naim does. However, this won’t stop many threads on this forum and other places from speculating about what and when Naim will announce new products.

Kind of you to think of me. I’m actually trying to buy a second NAT-01 at the moment!

A rare, but superb, piece of kit. Luckily Ron Smith aerials are still going so when you find one, you can still get the best antenna to make the most of it.

Good choice we have a NAT01 and a second NAT02 in the second system. Both are excellent and fed by G17 which helps a lot.

That looks to be a good guess.

It’s sad to see the iconic green logo ended, as gratuitous branding destruction seems counterintuitive.

Also some of us are shallow enough that one of our first question about the new boxes is how to make them work with our existing kit and ideally to blend visually too.

On the other hand, if you are Focal and your chief interest in existing customers is simply to force/ encourage them to discard all their existing kit and buy everything again, then it may make a lot of sense.

Fortunately it looks as if a green felt tip and some clear tape will make the new boxes look acceptable to a casual glance. For a better solution, we may need green LEDs and a good dealer to help with fitting them.

Some with new style boxes may be able to banish the green in the same way if they feel the need.

Personally, I prefer the white logo and think the NC is the best-looking of all Naim designs, being a customer since 81 I have had all but the bolt-down case.
