hi all, one of my drive units has lost its very low end,
I’ve swap xovers over,
Swap speaker leads over,
Checked all connections
Ruled out all other possibilities,
Any body else had this issue?
Thanks
Gasket seal is good
How would you use the IXO to get the subwoofer channel?
SBLs when here, lost one of the tweeters a couple of times, hence ultimately moving them on. May have previously commented, if you are in uk, will be worth referring the problem to Wilmslow Audio. Cost ime, nothing like quoted earlier, provided you have the parts and nothing too drastic is amiss. Good luck.
Usually the inputs of the subwoofer take the low frequencies for the subwoofer duties.
I’ve placed a bid on a subwoofer with amp channels - good chance we’ll know the outcome in the future.
OK, but how would you connect it? The IXO, much like my SNAXO will provide Left Hi, Left Lo, Right Hi, and Right Lo. Would the Sub have both Left & Right inputs that you would parallel off both IXO (L & R) Lo outputs?
Edit: I’ve just moved some furniture around the living room. We have an old Meridian M1500 sub, unused but doubles as a coffee table (the surround system is fully digital, hence DSP1500 sub). The M1500 does indeed appear to have left & right inputs, So the above would work. You’d need to knock up some splitter cables.
Interesting.
I’ll need to have 2 din4 to dual rca cables made up to feed the rca connections on the sub. Then make sure I feed the correct poweramp out to the speakers.
OK, so that’s the back of your TV?
I think I understand now.
But of course the cough “only way” cough to drive SBLs is…… SNAXO-Supercap plus a couple of 250s….
Too late! I’ve collected the sub:
Spirit willing, flesh weak et cetera.
Perhaps I’ll run the tv into the av2, av2 into the ixo to split hf and lf and use the 5 amp channels on this sub to power the SBLs actively.
I’ve put the Naim mug we got in Salisbury on top of it to get a sense of scale.
My wife doesn’t know yet, if I don’t survive I love you all!
Never throw away your old speaker plugs come in handy for lining up speaker sockets before re solder
The finish on those MK1s is lovely, looks like oak on the picture.
Thanks they are sanded black ash,
I brought for parts just for the tweeters
Thought I’ll stick them together see what they are like, been under my bed for months
Look fantastic, far too nice to be stuck under a bed
Magnificent four…
What will you use to get the old glue off Grumpy?
@stuart.ashen isopropanol,
Already done my MK2s
Look up in search “ Tarting up my Beauties”
Well after many hours playing my favourite music,
I’m actually preferring these over the MK2s
