Naim Stageline N (sadly discontinued)

The system was a bitvarieties!I visited my dealer in Leicestershire yesterday to compare my Stageline N to an unNaimed phono stage. My current system consists of a Pink Triangle Anniversary, J7 modded RB300 arm, and a Dynavestor 10x5. I have a NAC282/250DR/unNaimed power supplies and Kudos X3’s. He had an LP12 Akurate with my cartridge. It was obvious the Stageline N was not as good as the phono stage that was twice its price, although, to be honest, it was not bad, the soundstage opened up more with the newer one.

Since I was comparing just the phono stages, he set up a NAC552, going into an Exposure passive crossover, feeding 3 NSC250DRs triple-wired into the Kudos T808’s. I have a pair of T88’s waiting to be installed when I move house. The system was a bit overkill but demonstrated the differences very well.

The dealer said that Naim has discontinued the Stageline, all varieties!The dealer told me they had bought all the remaining Naim Stageline stock. If your dealer hasn’t got one, there is a hoarder in Leicestershire who has plenty, while stocks last!

The Prefix is better than the Stageline, if I don’t write false information.

Not sure about a Stageline – same circuit as internal board, got advantage of an isolated phono but with extra cables. I may choose phono board instead.

The prefix is discontinued too, however, it is designed for the LP12, not suitable for my Pink Triangle Anniversary.

Stagelines powered by AUX2 was pretty good, but happy with my cards in a Nac 62, also the fixed stage in Nait 50.

In a thread about the discontinued Stageline N, how does the Prefix even get a mention?! :-))))

My StageLine N has served me well over the years but the time has come to upgrade to a SuperLine which of course means with the S1 pre-amp using an external PS (HiCap) and getting a new MC cartridge… It’s an expensive hobby !

A Prefix is simply a denuded Stageline, wearing an LP12 out of modesty. It too has been discontinued (for some time). It was also made by Naim.

There’s a new kid in town - NVC TT phono stage. It makes sense to discontinue both the StageLine & SuperLine.

The stageline, yes, not the Superline. The last way above, but no service for him anymore.
