Naim Star: no sound, no hard reset

My Star wouldn’t turn off by using the physical button on the unit. It’s been a couple of weeks so I don’t remember if I powered it off by using the app. On the screen, I got a ‘warning error code: 315’ and I finally unplugged the power from the rear of the unit and plugged it back in, and then it worked normally. When I unplugged it from the unit, a loud sound came out of the speakers, but when it worked again, no problems with the speakers.

It’s been a couple of weeks and now no sound is playing, but it shows on the app that the track is indeed playing. I can’t physically shut it off again, but I shut it off using the app.

I’ve tried resetting it by pressing the play/pause + input buttons on the unit while it was on, but nothing happens.

I don’t want to continually unplug it and do this all over again, and the software is up to date so I’d like to know what other solutions there could be.

You have probably already done this, but have you checked that the mute button hasn’t been accidentally pressed? It has happened to me before.

Does the remote control work or is it only via the app that you can control it?

I would also email Naim Support and ask them what the 315 error code means.

You could also try unplugging the Star and leaving it unplugged overnight. Sometimes, it takes time for the capacitors to fully discharge, longer than the 20 mins Naim often recommends.

If you have no success after the the power off, type in your browser ipadress/webclient and go to settings and make a factory reset
