For those of you familiar with the Atom, how well does it work with the Harbeth P3ESR speakers? I also have a stereo pair of Rel subwoofers. What I’m wanting is Emotional engagement and 3D staging. I listened to both the Atom and Nova in a local shop and surprisingly preferred the Atom. Strange, especially since my previous system was a very high-end separates system. Thanks in advance!
I have only tried my Atom with one pair of standpoint speakers, Q-Acoustic 3020 which I was totally amazed by !
I’d have thought the Harbeth’s would work well but, I have never heard them with an Atom.
I currently use Kudos X3 floor standers with my Atom which very adequately fill quite a large room.
Two suggestions. If you like the Atom, you might consider a Nait 50 — there’s still a few at bargain price — with a suitable front end. I use a WiiM streamer as transport into a Chord Qutest, a significant improvement on my Atom at least to my ears. Second possibility: go for Atom HE with active speakers. I’m an ATC fan, but you might want to try the fairly new active Harbeths with Atom HE. Not heard them myself yet, but could be worth a try.

My gut feeling is that the Harbeths wouldn’t be an ideal match with an Atom, because they are small, not very efficient, and a sealed box design. When you listened to Atom and Nova, did you use the Harbeths for the demo?
My dealer (knowing my musical tastes, living space, and volumes played at) was happy to suggest the Atom with my P3ESR .
I now use a Nait50 with them , and it is a happy marriage.
PS Edited to say, that he also uses P3ESR
I have used my Atom with Royd Sorcerer SEs and they were very good.
The SBLs were a struggle though. If you have a small room, probably OK.
No, I wasn’t able to use my speakers for the demo. But the speakers I listened through were high-end speakers.
