Naim Uniti Star is failed to connect to any WIFI

Hello,

I am troubling with the Star connect to WIFI. It is much appricate if someone can share any information.
The Uniti Star is failed to connect to any WIFI.

It can search out SSIDs(2.4G or 5G), but none of them can be connected. It always says “failed to connect to the wireless network”. But wired connection works with the same router.

Tried different router and singal is strong but no success. The same SSID can be connected by other devices like laptop or mobile phone.

My suspect that it has hardware issue.

Thanks.

Can you try hardwiring it direct to the router?

Maybe start by unplugging the power from the Units Star, wait a few minutes then plug back in. If not they try a factory reset followed by unplugging to see if that helps. I assume you are not suffering from double NAT if running two routers or similar that are both issuing IP addresses?

I have had this issue with an ND555. My fix was to connect my phone to the WiFi network I wanted the streamer to use and then use the Naim app to setup the streamer rather than using the streamer’s front panel. That worked fine for me

Wired connection works.

Factory reset was done at least twice.
Still failed to connect any.

Phone app cannot find the Star if the Star has no network connection.

Can you run it permanently hardwired?

Connection will be more stable than Wi-Fi.

Did the problem occur after the recent firmware update?

Yes the app won’t see the Star as an existing device; you need to choose setup a new device in the app after the factory reset…

I can’t remember if I use the WIFI before. Can be used wired connection from the start.
But I did upgrade the Star recently.

I sense the sound is harsh on wired connection. So want to give a try on WIFI. But eh… Not working.

Want to try the sound of WIFI because the wired one sounds not OK. It is about 10 meters long basic wire.

But it is the Star issue if WIFI doesn’t work.

Great, this method (setup WiFi through Naim app add new device) works.

Thank you :+1:

The issue has been solved by JonathanH’s suggestion.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone for their help.
