I appreciate that the Atom and Metas have been commented on before, but most of the posts that I have found are first impressions etc. I am scoping out a new system for my home office and the Atom is my current best option.
A local dealer is pushing the LS50 Metas, and on paper they make sense. In some ways, the reported lack of deep bass is a bonus, as the system needs to be friendly to those in adjacent apartments.
So, can anybody tell me their warts and all thoughts after living with this combination? Has life with them reinforced your initial thoughts or brought on some niggles?
I haven’t bought either unit yet, so if people moved to similar priced alternatives then please let me know.
I have that exact set up and am extremely pleased with it. I would suggest that you still pair a small sub into the mix. It will add to your enjoyment by adding just enough low end to the Meta’s.
In my opinion, pull the trigger and go for it. You’ll be happy you did.
They are lovely little speakers - I have a set with my Nova in my office, with them sitting on a cabinet with my papers in it. They do great there. I kept the Nova when I upgraded my main system and bought the LS50s - they punch above their weight and do great in an office environment with the Nova.
My recommendation would be for the Atom HE with active speakers. The Acoustic Energy AE1’s are a similar price to the LS50 Meta’s and have been well reviewed with the Atom HE.
I listened to them myself when I was looking for speakers for my Atom HE. At the price point (£1k) they were excellent and you’d probably have to spend a fair bit more to better them - maybe active PMC Twenty5 21i at £2.5K
