Apologies if covered before.
Always wondered about the power supply having a standard power chord?
I have invested in a very good quality one and believe it has made a big difference to sound quality with improved bass and warmth.
Of course we want it so much it may be wishful thinking. Any other experiences?
Here in the US I have switched to AV Options SuperWiremold Deep-Cryo Power Strip with AV Options TibiaPlus12 Deep-Cryo AC power cables for my entire system.
If you use the search function and type in “Power Cords” you will see 50+ results.
I also use the AV Options TibiaPlus12 Deep-Cryo AC power cables. Great bang for the buck performance.
Piling on but yep I use their products as well. Really good value.
There are lots of threads on power cables that may be worth a read.
If this is the cable into the XPS, I lean toward a dedicated supply from meter to (unswitched) sockets, and then a Hydra to give star-earthing to all the Naim boxes (and the LP12’s Radikal).
However, if you mean literally the cable from the XPS to NDX2, that is a very different discussion.
+1 for AV Options products. The AV Options TibiaPlus12 Deep-Cryo power cables are ace, and big bang for the buck. I used them on my Naim power supplies. I also use the SuperWiremold Power Strip. Over the years I have acquired a set of Naim Powerlines, but TBH I can’t say they are or aren’t an improvement. If they are I don’t remember it well enough.
Now I use my Naim PowerLines on my 300PS, XPSDR, SCDR, and Boulder phono; and I use the AVO power cables on my two REL subs and the linear PSU for my turntable.
If I did it all over again I’m sure I’d be just as happy or better with seven AVO power cables and more records on my shelves instead.
I used to have the Powerlines. They work great when you can dress them properly. Unfortunately, due to lack of space, I had them touching the wall and not hanging “loosely”. I don’t believe I was getting the best out of them.
The AV Options power cords are les fussy about placement, and less stiff than a Powerline. In my system, there was no downgrade going from the Powerlines to the AV Options.
My Powerlines are less stiff than my AVO TibiaPlus12 power cords. The latter are thicker.
