first time poster but user of a Nait 50 in my modest system. I would appreciate the input of anyone who is enjoying their Nait 50 with Dali Menuet speakers. Is that a good match in my small room (25m2) for near field listening at low to medium volumes. I have a pair on demo and although enjoy the sound I have that awful nagging doubt about if it’s good match from a grip / control perspective? I also have Neat Iota which work very well but would like a second flavour and am back and forth with the Menuet.
Would also consider ProAc TAb 10 but not if the Dalis are a good match for which I am seeking a little input
Your room is actually quite large and I’m not sure that the Neats or Dalis are ideal. The Neats in particular need to be turned up quite loud in order to get a dynamic sound. My room is 16m2 and I found the Tablette 10 to be a bit on the small side. I’d be inclined to look for slightly larger speakers. There are lots of posts on here about speaker matches for the Nait 50, which you can find using the search.
Thank you, that’s valuable feedback. The room isn’t a dedicated listening room, it’s a main lounge / dining room and I use about 1/4 of it for music listening (if that changes your advice). I would love larger speakers but won’t work for my scenario in this room
The menuet (se) sound lovely but they do need a little volume to “wake them up” and this can impact low ish volume listening, even with the delightful Nait 50. That said for near field listening I suspect they will work well.
Not sure what budget you are working with as the standard Menuets are not too expensive in the grand scheme of things.
Do you have a budget in mind as that could possibly drive more helpful recommendations to explore albeit everyone’s rooms / tastes are different…
The SE menuet gets good reviews v the standard and I have heard good reports on the audiovector qr1 but they are c£1500 speakers.
Interesting, I found the opposite, the Iota needed a lot of volume to sound good and the menuets (se) sounded better to my ears (not sure on standard menuets) - just shows you the impact on room and preferences

My sources are Creek 4040CD, technics 1500C TT with Nagaoka MP-200 and Cambridge Audio MXN10 for steaming
I picked up these Menuet (non SE) for a great ex-demo price which is why I went for them. Could stretch to budget of ca. 1500 GBP for the right “buy and forget” speaker. Like the idea of something which will really compliment the Nait 50
Menuets need to be close to the wall that’s what they’re designed for. I demoed both of these and the Menuet SE were by far the better speaker to my ears and I even preferred them to the Petites. This is what’s so great about this hobby though it’s a very personal experience which is why demo’s are vital where possible.
I haven’t heard the Menuet, but I also have a Nait 50 and I’m quite a fan of Dali speakers.
Recently I changed my Proac Tab10 signatures for a pair of Dali Sonik 1’s, and imho it’s a great match. The Sonik 1’s are easy to drive, easy to place (close to back wall) and only slightly larger in size than the Menuet’s. I can imagine people skipping the affordable, entry-level Sonik’s when searching for a speaker match with a Nait 50, but I think it’s worth an audition. You might be surprised and keep a lot of money in your pocket.
I’m also dealing with less than ideal positioning. The Iotas were wall mounted and the Dalis would also probably have to go on the wall at a good ear level height.
If you are looking to fill 25m2, especially if you have high ceilings you may need a larger speaker as they are easier to drive than small speakers. It really depends on your definition of “near field”. To me that means a desktop or certainly within 1m like in a studio. In that case, a small speaker, even a bit tough to drive would be okay. That assumes you aren’t filling the rest of the space with more than BGM.
Both speakers are highly regarded and work well with Naim. Presentations differ. DALIs have a warmer lush sound. Neats a bit more neutral and focused. I am pretty fond of the DALI house sound.
Yeah I’m not near field as you describe I’m about 3m from the speakers and get to about 9 o’clock on the N50 dial which is loud enough for normal listening.
Hi, that’s really interesting. You moved away from I am really considering (ProAc T10) and can recommend the Sonik from Dali which I have already discounted as I have the Menuet. Thank you, I will indeed have a look at the Sonik 1 from Dali.
