As always, so important to listen. I would have never thought that the P3s would sound at their best with the Nait 50 but recently had a chance to demo the P3ESR XD & N50 and thought both (far) exceeded my expectations. Really very good combination, both shine and with ease.
First time I demo the XD version and I think they are trying less so desperately to prove a point and emphasise speech, they sound quite transparent and balanced, with a bit more bass too (slight hump but very acceptable). I liked them very much. I continue to think that the P3s are the only really good speakers Harbeth make, and their XD version is a worthwhile evolution.
Interesting ,early Linn Kan 1 a really good test of a small integrated amp,did you also tried with LP12 as source ?
Yeah, I tried both decks, so Valhalla/Ittok/VM95 and Cirkus/Lingo/Ekos/Adikt.
Donāt get me wrong, musically I enjoyed the N50. It was just a balance thing which Iām quite picky about.

I suppose that yours Nac12/Nap160 works much better with Linn Kan than Nait 50 ?
Yeah, it has more body and grunt. I was mostly trying Keilidhs, Tukans, and Katans with the N50. I never really expected it to work all that well with Kans, esp late Kan 1ās.
Knowing me Iāll end up buying another N50 in a couple of years and trying to pair it with something entirely different

I was 1200 too. But have already had a couple of
Months of ownership (and therefore fun). Plus bought during a stressful week when I needed the benefit of some retail therapy!
So no regrets
