I am still confused with the NAP 250.2 definition. Can just looking at the serial number will it be a way to tell? For example, I found a used NAP 250 for sale and the SN# is 334xxx, so it was manufactured in 2012, can we tell if this is 250.1 or 250.2? Thanks in advance!
At that age it will be a 250.2.
The previous versions, although never officially called 250.1, would have been in either chrome bumper or olive casing so easily identified.
The later 250DR looked the same but would have a little DR logo on the back, although many 250.2s would have been upgraded to DR spec.
There is no such thing as a 250.1. There is the original 250, which was first chrome bumper and then olive, and then there is the Classic 250 in the triptych case, which is the 250.2. The 250.2 then became the 250DR.
AFAIK the NC250 is referred to by some in Naim as the 250.3…
Yes.
That’s the reference on the main PCB.
Thanks for all the response! Now I know what I am ordering is a 250.2, should work out for NAC 282, I hope
Nc250 is also known as gen 6, preceded as I’m sure you know by cb, olive, classic, “.2” and dr.
Quite why it’s designated 250-3 on the pcb I don’t know.
Perfectly!
Excellent match. Add a Supercap and that’s the only system you’ll ever need.
