ND5 XS 2 as a chromecast to S/PDIF transport

I like Idagio much more than Qobuz or Tidal. Unfortunatly, casting Idagio contents from a mobile phone to a Google Chromecast Audio connected via Toslink to my nDAC yields poor results.

The connection is reliable but the sound quality is very far from what I hear when streaming to the nDAC from a DigiOne Signature.

The ND5 XS 2 has chromecast built in. What about its sound quality when used as a chromecast to S/PDIF transport? Does it sound significantly better than a Google Chromecast Audio? Any idea about other devices that can act as chromecast to S/PDIF transports?
