The remote 3.5mm input on the Supernait is to send the NAIT RC5 protocol messages from source devices, I’m not aware of that input handling other types of signal or protocols.
Regardless, seems it doesn’t work in the case of OP alas.
Yes it’s a shame but not the end of the world. I wonder if it’s something that could be changed when I get it serviced
