Bought a s/h nd5 xs2 for my 2nd system, but can’t set it up via wifi. It works fine on ethernet, and the associated WAP is in the same room as the nd5 xs2.
In short, it cant find any wifi networks when it goes through its setup. I have reset it a number of times now. And of course naim support go home at 3pm today. I have followed the instructions on the app, but wifi appears a non starter.
Btw, sounds great into ndac/62/hc/250 ! ( when on ethernet cable)
Access points can be configured to hide the SSID. That is not the case, I assume?
I can’t remember exactly how the procedure went in the app, when I installed my ND5XS2. Do you get an error message or anything when you try to add the ND5XS2? Is your phone or tablet that you use to connect to the ND5XS2 on the same WiFi network?
Yes. Im connected to same wifi as the one im hoping nd5xs2 will find. I’ll take it downstairs tomorrow and see if it can find router/wap.
This WAP is open with a simple password. SSID is not hidden. Everything else can find it.
I’m thinking the wifi bit is defective. And this is what I’m checking. If so, there is a conversation to be had via ebay.
Just trying to make sure I’ve not missed something obvious.
Right to close this out, and for the benefit of those that have a similar issue in the future.
Finally after 40 or so hard/factory resets got it to go into wifi mode, find my WAP ( the one that is one meter away) and connect.
A bit of google and naim forum search shows the nd5 xs2 and wifi to be a right PITA. It is not easy and that is if you follow the instructions. Ive never had a similar issue with my ndx2.
Im not sure what i did to fix it. But what i did do, was walk away for 30 mins, return to see the led flashing purple. Bingo.
No idea why nd5 xs2 is a PITA, but i am not alone. I was thinking the lack of a screen is an issue, but the lack of a purple flashing light is the key. Maybe the answer is to wait 30 mins?
Anyway, plugged into nDac, 62, hc,250 and neat petite classics.
