My ND555 has lost the left channel, whether from streamed or radio channels. It is normally powered by 2 555s, so I have tried swapping to single power supply, each in turn, and I have swapped the Superlumina for another Naim DIN lead. My limited fault diagnosis skills therefore lead me to suspect the Burndys or the ND555 itself. Other sources play fine, including my NAT01 when I use the CD input the ND555 normally feeds. Any other suggestions before I send it back to HQ?
The most likely thing would probably be a stuck relay. Do you get the same if you re-assign to RCA phono output?
Thank you Richard. I’ve done that and both channels have returned. My RCA to DIN cable is not at Superlumina standard, so I guess are pair is still required?
OK, that does sound like it’s either the DIN I/c or the DIN relay.
I tried a different DIN I/C but at least I’ve got the streamer until I can arrange to have it repaired. Thank you.
Ah, Ok, sorry I missed that. Then it unfortunately seems to indicate the streamer - likely a stuck relay.
One of my 555s is newer than the other. Does it matter whether the newer one feeds the digital or analogue side?
Only if one requires a service. Otherwise, they should be basically the same.
