Yes, I’m really looking forward to hearing those lovely tones from my Sigma again! I really hope 3.11 lives up to expectations.
Me too!
And I am able to hear this tones again (with nds) - tested sigma on nds against omega, vodka and diamond. Exactly the same as with nd555 - sigma best by margin
Guidance from Shunyata to my dealer is that the SigmaX is significantly better than Omega of the previous line and that OmegaX is a new reference that did not exist. Take this with a grain of salt of course.
Vocals have become so addictive, at a different level with the Sigma. Soundstage depth can only be described as cavernous. And somehow it’s all smooth on day 1 of run-in. This cable should be sold together with the ND555.
I was rather hoping that the improvements are more a manufacturers myth but I suspect they are probably true. Still, the naturalness and depth of inflections in vocals, even with the standard Sigma, is simply sublime. Couple that with the added tonal pallet you get and the range of micro dynamics and you start to wonder how much more is possible. You only have to listen to a single piano note or the added ‘edge’ you get with drums and you know that it sounds so ‘right’, especially with 3:8. I agree that most people will never know just how good this combination was, even Naim won’t understand!
So I went a little network upgrade bonkers - the tempus and muon pro are coming next week.
That should be interesting. I’ve been speaking to the guys in Holland about the Pura Dodo LPS for my switch. I know there’s an LPS’s out there that’ll beat the standard SMPS but they’re hard to find. They’re pretty ‘bullish’ about the Dodo destroying all the competition, so I may have a punt on one.
I had the Dodo on my bridge II but found it to lean/neutral on it. Might be a different result today since I’ve change some cables.
You have not changed some - you have changed all ![]()
You Scandinavian people like tuning, I think …

I could have a listen to the new Plixir BDC MK2 next week. That’s probably a bit less neutral from the reviews I’ve read?
The Blackbirdman bridge will appear in a lot of threads soon, I see it in my cristal ball:
- how to have Qobuz on the Nds.
- How to improve the nasty 3.10.1 firmware
- Which transport for my Ndac
- I have Tidal freezes with my Ndx.
- The best transport for money
- ……

And don’t forget the „powered by neotech“ thread ![]()

The Omega X replaced a ChordMusic streaming cable in my 555. It’s quite different, but to my ears just sounds more realistic and improves on the Music in all respects. It’s also a little cheaper than the Music.
I only use danish cables.
I have another fun project to initiate.
Depends on what you’re feeding with it. I found my gen-1 Plixir Elite BDC to be just slightly on the sweet side of neutral.
No, no. The blackbirdman bridge is so immune to all kind of noise that an Amozonitech cable for 8 euros will be enough.
That’s interesting - would you say that the OmegaX is leaning towards a smoother or more analytical presentation with the ND555?
The Omega X sounded more detailed and more controlled. Initially that sense of order and accuracy made me wonder whether the Shunyata cable had lost some of the excitement and drive that I’d always liked with ChordMusic, but over a week or so as the Omega X settled in the system it just sounded better all round really. I have ChordMusic cables pretty much throughout the system and like what it brings, but nevertheless Omega X Ethernet is a definite improvement to my ears.
(sorry I deleted my initial reply somehow)
I have compared the omega (without x) against sigma (also no x) 2 times.
The omega has more detail and a bass definition out of this world x
- but in my system the sigma was more balanced with more organic spectrum.
Shunyata cables are with the best ever heared - bad that they are so expensive
