What will Airplay 2 allow us to do?
I think Airplay2 (vs. AirPlay, the original series) – in terms of the Naim streamers – is more about multi-room support than anything else. If you don’t use multi-room features (and I do not with my NDX2) I don’t see what – if any – benefit it adds for Naim streamers.

It allows you to use Apple multiroom when playing over Airplay from an iPhone or iPad. This was previously only possible from a Mac. So not really that important for most Naim users, unless perhaps you have other non-Naim Airplay devices that you want to use in a multiroom group that includes a Naim streamer.

Qobuz is not part of this firmware update.

Bug fix for screen freeze?

Updated my ND555 yesterday without issue. Has anyone had a screen freeze post update yet?
My NDX2 screen is functioning as it should now after the update.

My NDX2 works fine after update, but I still have a problem that system automation doesn’t always switch my preamp from the turntable input to the NDX2 input when I play Roon. A restart of the NDX2 usually resolves that, until it stops working again.
I’ve just done the update on my ND555, and it went smoothly.
Thankfully, I can’t detect any effect on SQ, unlike the issues last time round on my NDS … and no more having to connect my laptop to the streamer, which, let’s face it, is so last century … so, that’s nice.

Good work Dave. My system is broken down at mo due to decorating etc. I’m looking forward to having all back up updated and running again.
Out of interest are the Muso range updated as well?
I can’t see any mention of the Muso in the software updates.
