I have searched for an ND5XS2 manual online only to to download an ND5XS manual.
A little history. Members may be aware that I am endeavouring to save for an ND5XS2. Whilst sitting in the lounge room my eyes fell on my Celestron Telescope that I can no longer get outside and the idea of selling it raise the required funds for an ND5XS2.
I have also been enquiring in this forum about Wagner Ring composers and mentally evaluating platforms of either vinyl or CD. This led me to have a peek at the Qobuz website and find more economical choices of downloads for purchase.
Now to the question. I assume that one can make a purchase at Qobuz. Though how does one download the purchase and direct it to a memory stick located at the rear USB port on the ND5XS2 please?
It is an ascetic thing to keep the front panel clear and match the other Naim boxes.
How large a memory stick can an ND5XS2 handle please?
Can you plug the memory stick into your computer for the download and then carry it over?
IIRC the Qobuz downloader allows you to choose the directory in which to download. Even if that weren’t the case, you could move or copy it from the default directory onto the memory stick.
Thank you for the suggestion. I had never thought of a BluRay player. At the moment I do not have one thought that is an interesting idea. I was wishing to keep my HIFI rack purely NAIM.
I could purchase a PlayStation PS5 when the grand children and my son and his wife visit or would you recommend something else. I do not know where to start. I would like to keep using the NAIM Din interconnects though possibly may have to return to RCA. I do know of third party RCA to Din are available. Possibly something else to ponder.
Thank you for your suggestion Ian. Thinking inside the circle as a friend used to say. Something completely different to thinking outside the square.
This answers something I did not think about. To complete the black face plate look I would have to purchase a black memory stick and once I was happy with its contents or capacity I could then move it the rear port.
I have had a few moments of contemplation and will now consider keeping the Celestron telescope and us the ND5XS2 as a streamer. Thankfully we have a 500 MBSP FTTP. I think I have been over thinking things once again.
One note - I am assuming you are purchasing the Ring cycle as a download, not just downloading it as a local file. I’m pretty sure you can’t move the files around in the latter case.
I had to change my Qobuz password: its app works perfectly, but the Focal&Naim app (I have an nd5xs2) no longer allows me to log in to Qobuz because it does not recognize the new password.
Is there a way to dissociate my Qobuz account on the Focal&Naim app and then re-associate with the new password?
Can anyone help me?
