Ethernet, I’ll see if I experience the same on WiFi
As usual, no location mentioned, so can’t comment.
Don’t people know this is the WWW?

The buffer level will depend on if its a live source (eg, radio) or non live source like uPnP, Tidal or Qobuz.
On radio it buffers a minimum of 3secs of audio (as of next sw release we’re increasing that to 6). As it’s a live source, unless the broadcaster has audio buffered in their server (many have 10+secs worth) we can’t buffer audio quickly in the streamer, if it hasn’t been broadcast yet or we have to wait for the audio to buffer at 1x speed. Hence the buffered figure reported in stats will typically be low.
On UPnP / Tidal / Qobuz its upto 50MB of input data, which typically is a full track. This makes streaming very robust. On products like the ci102 and Focal Diva that has increased to 250MB ao HD classical tracks can play from RAM.
On Spotify the buffering is done inside the Spotify library and its typically 15seconds. If the wifi connection is weak this can expose the smaller size of this buffer. It can also ‘glitch’ if the whole wifi connection drops out and then reconnects.
In the diagnostics page it also reports the RSSI stats of the wifi signal. I suspect its something like -70dBm or worse.
Hope that helps + clears up a few rogue facts in this thread.

Thank you for the very detailed response.
May I ask what do you mean by buffering is done inside the spotify library? Do you mean the spotify software itself handles the buffering and not the naim written software?
My signal strength hovers around -63dBm for wifi, but I have seen my streamer experience wifi issues such as waking from sleep which I am not sure is an issue due to my router, or the streamer.
Thank you
Hi,
Yes, the Spotify Connect client library (known as esdk3) handles input buffering. That library is supplied as a pre-built libraries so it’s ‘black box’ software supplied by Spotify,

Hi everyone
I have exactly the same problem as @ThatsMynamedude is describing , on the Naim Uniti Atom
I am using Spotify on the Naim for about 3 years now , never had issues until a few months ago. I believe there was a firmware update a few months back, maybe that is causing the problem?
I have already tried the usual , restart the router, reset the Naim , I even contacted Spotify. Nothing helped . Also tried both iOS and Android apps, also the same issue
So please Naim , if someone is reading this, try to look in to it ! Thanks
Hello, the issues with spotify have been there long before the firmware update recently.
I suspect it is due to the short 15 second buffer that Stevesky mentioned, and my ND5XS2 has some infrequent handshaking/connection issues with my router on wifi (not an issue on my iphone). Tidal is flawless, but I agree that the stuttering on spotify is making it unusable.
I managed to capture the “stutter” on a video . It is completely random, sometimes it goes for 10 songs with no problems, other times it’s quite often. I see I cannot upload clips here . I’m not even sure who to contact about this problem, Naim , Spotify ? It’s very annoying
