nDAC DIN output no sound

Has anyone experienced DIN socket output issue on their nDAC before? I unplugged my Hi-Line cable on my nDAC earlier and after reconnect I found the is no sound came out from my speakers. I tried my best to troubleshoot and I am confident to say the issue is on the DIN output. The RCA output is working fine, in fact I am quite satisfied with the sound quality of the RCA output from my mDAC to NAC282 using a cheap RCA cable came with my Wiim Pro. (Didn’t expect that, because I always use DIN cable in my Naim system for the last 20+ years, never bothered to try RCA before. Any Naim user out there is actually using RCA cable instead DIN cable between their Naim gears?) My DIN cables are also not the problem, and I have tried 3 different DIN cables but still no signal out from my nDAC. The DIN input on my NAC 282 is also not the problem, because I have tried on other sources using the DIN cable and no problem at all. I also powered off and on several times, with and without external power supply but still no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

On the note of the RCA cable, I have a Chord DIN-RCA cable coming next week, so my nDAC can still function with the temporary RCA cables right now or the Chord DIN-RCA cable next week, glad the DIN issue didn’t cause down time in my system :grinning:

Hi,
as you get sound from the RCA outputs, the obvious question is whether you have accidentally switched the output from DIN to RCA on the back of the DAC.
When I had my DAC, I used the RCA outputs first and switched to DIN a few months later, using the same model of cable. With a SN2 receiving the signal I heard at most minor differences.

Thanks for helping, but I never used RCA output on my nDAC before until the problem happened earlier. There is no switch on nDAC’s back or front panel for the RCA/DIN output. Those are physical sockets, the socket that is connected with the cable is what is going to carry the signal. So that is very straight forward and cannot be mixed/confused.

The switch is on the back. From memory in the bottom right hand corner as you look from the back.

You are damn right! How foolish I am! It’s probably earlier when I switched the hi line cable my finger touched the din/rca switch by accident. It’s all working now, thank you so much @Christopher_M and @Mulberry !!
