NDS and Uniti Core Naim App Vanish

Not sure if it’s the new app or what, but my NDS and Uniti Core keep disappearing from “my devices” even though they are powered on. I closed out the app, restarted my phone and it worked for a bit. My ND555 shows up on my main system but these other two which are connected on the second system don’t show up. Any ideas?

Are you using mesh wifi? I had problems like this, with Naims vanishing for no reason and then reappearing, sometimes a day later. Nothing I did would sort it out - restarting, checking wires etc etc. It drove me potty. The only way I could fix it was to get rid of mesh and have a single router. All the Naim boxes were wired, with wired backhaul to the mesh boxes.

Yes, it is mesh wifi. We recently picked up starlink a few months ago. Everything had been working so much better than our previous internet. We live on a farm and satellite or repeater internet are the only options. Starlink is incredible though and so happy we have it. Why wouldn’t the ND555 drop out then? New technology I suppose. The two systems are on different floors so without drilling holes in the floor, I’m kind of stuck I guess.

Useful to provide more detail. Which app and on what control point?
How is the Core and ND555 connected?
Likely best resolution if you can’t connect direct to the router, is to use a WAP from the likes of Ubiquiti, hard wired back to the router (which doesn’t have to be by the shortest route - if nec consult a sparky). That may provide a more stable wifi signal. Ensure everything is connecting to the same network and no double NAT.

Is double nat’ing that bad? I had a WAP mistakenly set to router instead of AP mode which subnetted my network in two but didn’t notice any real issues.

Yes - no network should have double NAT; that likely is part of the issue.
It likely won’t affect simple browsing, however it makes communicating across your network flaky.

Agreed, it’s not ideal, waiting on OP’s feedback to your questions on their setup.

I replied to you inadvertently, but seems like we are agreed. I have amended my post slightly.

After quite a while I tried again to rip some new cds with the Core. This device is a mess. Probably the worst piece of equipment Naim has ever thrown on the market.
