I doubt 2018 units need a service, if the NDS screen has failed or is going dim, yes that needs to be replaced.
I had my NDX 2016 (same family and common parts as NDS) screen replaced a year ago.
It needs to be arranged thru your Naim dealer
I agree with Mike, you have several years before your units need a service.
In answer to your specific question, Naim no longer service the NDS, but do offer repair. They still service the 555DR power supply.
Thereās no set service routine with an NDS like there is for an amp or power supply. For the 555 power supply Naim recommend a service every 15 years, IIRC.
I believe the recommendation for old classic black boxes has been 12-15 years with no exception. Until Naim recently said service is not optional anymore for NDS, CD555 and Superline. No?
And where is the recommended service intervals for products on the new page? Cannot find it anymore. Are they phasing out the service recommendation?
To confirm this was the post.
It used to be 8-10 years, but was extended 12 for Classic and 500 series to 15 years. It applies to pre-amps, power amps and power supplies. Naim has long only recommended that CD players are sent in for repair (if possible).
FAQ has the info;
Unfortunately the link to the Connection piece about the Service Department no longer works as it was on the old website. I have asked Naim whether itās possible to have the old Connections pages available once more when the new website is finally put to rights.
Note that with the fully regulated power amps, the service intervals are most important as their performance can go off quite dramatically as components fall out of proper spec.
