NDX 2 digital inputs configuration issue

Hi,

I have been trying to connect multiple streaming sources to my NDX2, but for some reason only one seems to work, the others although connected and configured and selected on the app do not work.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you

I think we need more info.

The NDX2 has 4 digital inputs, which can all be used independently.

2 Toslink [inputs 1&2], and 2 Coaxial (one RCA [input 3] one BNC [input 4])

What sources do you have connected, and to which inputs?

Hi, I have two toslink connected , one to my TV and the other to the CD digital output, and one connection on the coaxial. Only one of the toslink seem to work and the coaxial does not work either .

Can you see these digital inputs in the naim app? They may have been turned off in the app.

Yes I did see them when I first install the NDX, then over time I did change the name so now, after so long I do not remember which is which of the Digital. Is there a way to reset the app to the default and start over again? Maybe that way I’ll be able to sort things out.

By far the easiest way is just to try each in turn and check that it’s turned on. Even if you did reset the app, you would still need to do that.

The naim app is very unhelpful here, isn’t it.

A renamed input in app only shows the new name, and there is absolutely no way to see which physical input the renamed input is connected to.

In the webclient both the renamed and original name are shown.

From other threads it appears the webclient is being removed in firmware 3.12 which will make glaring usability errors in the current app all the more frustrating.

When you click through to a renamed input on the app, the screen where you enable/disable or rename, it should really show you the original OOTB input name.

There is a way to “discover” which physical input a renamed input connects to using the new naim diagnostics.

Activate the input via app.

Open the http webpage for your streamer (http://x.x.x.x replacing with IP address of NDX2 - available from app - Settings/Information &Help/About) move to Diagnostics tab and click Download diagnostics (JSON).

Look in the JSON….

That is our NDX2 with “TV” input (Toslink 1) selected in naim app.
