NDX 2: does the BNC digital output follow the selected input?

I’d like to insert an external DSP (miniDSP Flex Digital) into my system to apply parametric EQ, and I’d prefer to keep the NDX 2’s own DAC rather than add a separate one.

The idea would be:

NDX 2 BNC digital out → miniDSP → NDX 2 digital in (BNC or coax RCA) → NAC 552

My question: when playing a network source such as Qobuz, does the BNC digital output carry the network stream regardless of which input is selected on the front panel? Or does the digital output always mirror whatever input is currently active?

If it’s the latter, selecting the digital input to hear the processed signal would create a loop and the whole thing obviously can’t work.

Has anyone tried something similar? System is NDX 2 → NAC 552 → NAP 500.

Hi, you can’t do this as you can only select either the Qobuz input on the streamer, or the digital input. There’s no way to turn on both at the same time.
