NDX - fix screen or replace with ND5XS2

@Bonang

What router do you have, ISP supplied or not.

I have the BT Smarthub-2 with its purpose designed BT extender disc. It is faultless.

Is this adressed to me?
@Mike-B ?

Sorry I should have included an @ to Bonang, now corrected.

Thank god…I did not know what to answer.:joy:

Get the NDX fixed and then unload it and get a used ND5XS2. It’s a better streamer on just about every level.

The streaming section of the NDX is holding back the performance of the Ndac.

A reletevly inexpensive streaming bridge would be an improvement.

Router is Vodafone Gigabox.
My problems with wifi is that, if I don’t use the NDX for a few days, it looses its connection to the network. I can usually wake it up by using ping commands and then everything is OK until the next time.
Years ago I had a squeezebox on the same rack and in the same room (but with an earlier router) and it never gave any problems.

The wifi stability of my NDX2 is much better (99%) than my HDX ever was (~70%). Tempus fugit!

That sounds like the gen1 device issue we had packet captures from our 272 for.

There’s a network stack issue in that they stop responding to broadcasts, so aren’t discoverable by the naim app.

But as you say ping (or more reliably accessing the device website over HTTP) magically brings it back to life!

I had not known that I could actually point a browser at the NDX. Now that I have discoverred this I have changed my ping command from
ping -c4 192.168.1.5
to
wget 192.168.1.5
mv index.html index.old.html
Hopefully this will improve things.
Thanks for the hint and advice.
