Hi,
I am seeking advice regarding a fault with my NDX.
The system was working normally the previous evening and no cables, settings or equipment had been changed. The firmware is also up to date.
I initially noticed a complete loss of the right channel when using the NDX with my NAC 552 / NAP 300DR system.
To investigate, I carried out the following checks:
• Confirmed both loudspeakers are working correctly.
• Checked and reseated all interconnects.
• Swapped speaker connections to confirm the fault was not with the speakers.
• Connected a Cambridge Audio EXN100 streamer to the NAC 552 using the same system and both channels operated normally.
• Connected the EXN100 directly to my AVR using RCA outputs and both channels operated normally.
• Reconnected the NDX to the NAC 552 via DIN and the right channel was missing.
• Connected the NDX directly to the AVR via RCA outputs and the right channel was also missing.
As the fault is present on both the DIN and RCA analogue outputs of the NDX, and alternative sources work correctly on the same equipment, the fault appears to be within the NDX itself, affecting the right channel analogue output.
Summary of test results:
EXN100 → NAC 552 = both channels operate normally
EXN100 → AVR via RCA = both channels operate normally
NDX → NAC 552 via DIN = right channel missing
NDX → AVR via RCA = right channel missing
Based on the above tests, the issue appears to follow the NDX regardless of the downstream equipment used.
Can anyone advise on any further diagnostics I should perform, or the recommended service procedure?
Many thanks
