I have tried to connect a toslink to stream the sound from the tv to Digital 1 on the NDX 2 but I am only getting a terrible high pitched rumble. I tried digital 2 and same thing. Tv setting is configured to output for streaming. Not sure what the issue here is. Any ideas?
Somewhere in your TV audio settings you should set output to PCM.
Thanks will give that a go in the morning
I have a similar issue. My TV has worked fine through an optical cable to ND5XS2 for ages. My aging Sky Q box was just updated to the latest model and now I have a loud screeching sound when I connect through the Naim app. Nothing else was changed and I can see nothing in the Q box to adjust. Only the Sky box was touched.
Naim helped me yesterday. Make sure that all apps and settings are on either PCM or Two channel and not set to Dolby or Dolby surround sound settings. Since we went through all the settings this has been resolved. It was set to auto in two places in the tv sound settings .
Thanks there was actually two places where it had to be adjusted .
Thanks for your help!
My Sky box connects to a 5.1 system via optical. My Sky box connects to the TV via HDMI and the TV then connects to ND5XS2 via optical. In the Sky box both outputs were Dolby and switching the HDMI to normal has sorted the problem.
