had a lovely couple of hours @Cymbiosis yesterday with a preview of the NEW Bedrock Plynith for the LP12 and moreover hosted by Gilad which
LP12 50 on demo with fully active 360’s which was certainly a big system and then in @Cymbiosis other demo room LP12 Kilax Bedrock plynith into new 150’s which I loved again active
Due to forum rules re. dealers posting about brands other than Naim (I do give some leeway re. the LP12 due to Naim’s offerings such as the Arm, NAPSA etc…), I’m not sure Peter can say much more here, so by all means do say more if you wish.
I wondered if this new plinth would filter down from the LP12 50. Interesting that Linn have managed to machine the crisp angles in the corners asa opposed to the rounded edge. Like the finish too!
Thanks for this Antz. I was wondering when/if this was going to happen.
I see the squared corners, but I’m assuming that other than that change, internally it’s the same as the plinth on the LP12-50 in that it’s machined from a single piece and has the extra corner bracing as part of the design?
My guess is that the extra heft and one piece design of the LP12-50 plinth is possibly even more important than the material it’s made of. I could of course be wrong…
Any inkling as to pricing?
Interesting that the grain goes left to right on the side pieces as a normal plinth has the mitred pieces that have the grain running top to bottom. I wonder if a painted option is available.
It’s a reconstituted composite material so grain might be luck.
It’s the traditional shape I expected as the LP12 - 50 would have been spoiled.
Mmmm a new one in black.
I can’t really add much to what Antony has said about them getting back into “getting back into vinyl with a Scottish company” but it’s certainly good news, but lets see where it goes…!
I doubt Sir Johnny Ive would agree with you on that one It’s all personal though and the new plinth and top plate combination did attract many great comments.
