New Classic standby with 5.2 FW

Since updating the FW on my NSC 222 a long press on the power button on the remote no longer activates a full standby power setting from which it is then ‘safe’ to disconnect from the mains. I know this as the lights on the Ethernet port continue to be on/flash. So it appears to remain in Instant on standby. Is that intentional? Or have I misunderstood how this all works?

What release version does your 222 show under About - should be 8465?

I noted something similar on my Atom HE but it ceased to occur when I installed the release version of the Uniti update.

If the firmware looks OK, time to raise a support ticket.

No experience with NC, but the long-press for deep-sleep on Atom/Nova always only worked via the on-device button on the unit, never via the button on the remote.

Yes, 5.2.0 8465. Maybe I should raise a ticket. Just not sure if it’s actually a fault or a change.

Well, it worked like that previously from the remote control. I NEVER touch the 222 itself for fear of leaving sticky finger marks!

New Classic gear does not require the shut down procedure that was important in previous Naim systems. You can just pull the plugs from the wall, in any sequence, and when you plug them back in they will start up in the same state as you left them (on or network standby.)
