The Atom HE was a much improved variation of an existing product. This looks like something completely new in the product portfolio. I for one have no ‘silly level’ of expectation, but I am really interested.

Despite my design work involving the internet ‘since it began’, I don’t use Instagram or Facebook but I fully understand their usefulness in making people aware of what a business is doing.

Plus it is great that naim are putting some fun back into their marketing like they did back in the day. So let’s not poop on their party, and instead celebrate with them, the pride they have in giving us something ‘brand new’.

The dealers have been after a higher level integrated for a long time so they can satisfy the box phobic. That’s hardly a new dawn though and the pictures suggest something else. On the other hand it could be a new range of products.
What it won’t be is retrofittable like the DR upgrades. The dealers were rather upset the we could all DR our amps etc at very small profit to them.
I wonder if it will please the purists or just the lifestyle crowd?

According to my secret information, source will stay Naimless!

The technical experts have managed to tap into the excellent details of the DBL refurbishment on this venerable forum, make some generous modifications so that the Statement mono block can be incorporated into the DBL making the speaker an active unit and thus used on the Uniti Atom HE pre out.

I’ll get my coat…

I think soon black box will be history. I think this can be the starting of a new product series.

The coordinates in the video is the centre of Stonehenge. Something round maybe such as a turntable of stone and wood:grin:

Hopefully not a turntable…There are so many on the market and who needs a turntable anyway

Naim are going to start their own Hi-res streaming service

I agree that whatever it is will break further from the 500 and Classic design language. And then it’s only a matter of time for them… (assuming this new product isn’t the start of the refresh)

My money here is on a statement streamer - with the trickle down technology and design language filtering into new 500 and Classic in 2022 and beyond.

At the start of the video you can clearly see the brushed black finish of the Uniti range. There is also a zoomed in Uniti logo and side panel.

I’d usually say a Super Nova integrated or a Uniti style 272 replacement with active focal speakers, but neither fit something radical and new. So. I’m going to go with a high-end all in one speaker - a super Muso type thing that can be used as a single speaker, or paired in stereo that ticks the box for SQ, life style and box reduction.

Image a column (Stonehenge) design Focal speaker, black Uniti case on top (like an Atom) and a range of colour finishes for the column, including stone…….

I have the feeling that you are guessing in the right direction!

If the new Unitis can enable one’s music collection to be reimagined, it really doesn’t have to be particularly new and exciting to be a new dawn. A Qb Cardboard would easily be enough.

The new Dawn could simply be a reference to moving to all-in-one high end hi-fi that includes streamer and amp in a speaker controlled by an app. That’s the future and it seems an obvious direction for Naim and Focal. We’’ll know soon enough.

I suspect you are right. You can only take the ND555 so far (which in itself is a pretty long way…) and Naim lack a front end in their product range to really show what the Statement amps can do.

I probably won’t be able to afford it but it’s always interesting to see Naim’s approach to product engineering when budget constraints are removed…

I’ve just come off the phone from a prominent Naim dealer. Apparently Salisbury have been listening to concerns with regard to volume control on the existing pre-amps. Without saying so in as many words it is apparent that they will be launching a new ultra-sensitive knob. It will be retro-fittable to existing Classic Series and 552 pre-amps but it is anticipated that demand will be very high and the waiting list is expected to be up to 24 months.
