Well sort of good news…but they should post on their website and the forum, communication by Naim is hit and miss imo.
I have always had auto standby set to never. That didn’t stop my ND555 performing a random reboot.
Hi Mike,
Mine was set to never, so for me that didn’t work. Thank you for the heads up, and maybe it will work for others.
Will do Clive.
That work around didn’t last long then, which I did sort of wonder…
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work.
My “Auto standby time” is set to “Never” since I bought the ND555.
I don’t know how they endup with this pseudo “workaround”…
It sounds like a random answer given by an outsourced helpdesk
You’re lucky you got an answer to your email. Still waiting for mine…
Yes, sorry about that. I was just following Richards request to let Naim know about my issues. That the response misses the mark is a bit concerning - also the reference to “a few reports”…
I too have had that problem in the past, although I’m not aware of it occurring recently. I’m sorry I missed your thread on the subject.
Indeed!
Considering the targeted customers, the gear price tag, releasing such an inconsistent piece of software is baffling.
The bugs I experienced and to those reported are the kind we find in alpha releases (and I know what I’m talking about…)
Disappointing, really…
PS : on a positive side, the sound keeps being excellent!
I have to say that I followed @Richard.Dane’s advice on rebooting ie logged out of Qobuz, closed Naim app, unplugged Nova, unplugged router, had a long cup of tea and then restarted everything. It has completely sorted out the SQ problems I had after FW update ie the brightness and forwardness. Now sounding better than ever. Top tip
Same here👍🏻
It was the tea that did it…
I had the same laughable email. I have never had it on anything other than never. Oh dear Naim.
Yorkshire tea obvs
Its taken 10 days for them to respond to my last one, which was to say I got help from Steve and had rolled back. They obviously are not reading or logging things particularly well.
Will you be replying to that email, pointing out that user experience suggests it is not the answer?
Yeh I’m very happy with mine now too after sounding well off the mark for a while, forwardness has gone as you say and bass is really nice after been absent for a while. Interestingly I had my electricity supplier here today fitting a smart meter meaning everything was powered down for about 30 mins, I think everything sounds better again since powering up, maybe the old meter was having a negative effect or even just reseating the main fuse may have done it
I did straight away.
I also said I am now staying on 3.4 until they sort this mess out.
So tonight after similar time on the HDMI I switched the analogue I put my record player is on, plugged in the headphones and no bzzzt sound at all…
