New from Naim – Solstice Special Edition turntable

Looks lovely and rather relieved you like it………yes it does sound very Naim like, and no bad thing either.

We’ve seen pictures on here of little protective coats over people’s speakers, which is paranoia gone too far I feel. They’d have kittens over your picture, if you’ll excuse the pun.

He’s growing faster than Billy then, who is just over 7 kg at 10 months.

Seen here in his favourite forbidden location….

Billy is a handsome devil that’s for sure! …and certainly Ginger-er than Len!

Lenny’s growth should slow a bit now, for which we have the VET to thank.

I was surprised how resilient my LP12 was to cats. Ours would occasionally jump onto the lid from the floor, and if a record happened to be playing it never missed a beat, which must say something for the design of the suspension. Then again, our cat weighed half as much as yours.

At last! :sunglasses: Guess this thread can be closed now?

What before Matt’s review and then my take on what adding Superline/ Supercap does to the performance? :joy:

This is the best system & best room I have ever seen.
Congratulations friend.

Congratulations Matt - really pleased to hear about the end (of the beginning) of your your journey with the SSE. Lovely room and fantastic feline friends to share it with.

Love reading all these positive owner reviews (and getting board with all the slagging). Looking forward to receiving mine hopefully soon, cough-cough.

Owners, please feel free to gloat and share set-up advice.

That’s very kind thankyou. There are many here have nicer and more music focussed rooms than me I think, but our room is very light and bright and comfortable.

Really glad that it’s turned up and, more importantly, it’s what you hoped it would be Matt. Looks very at home in that system!

Lovely, Matt. You were, I believe (haven’t checked the beginnings of this thread), the first to post your order, and I’ve been following your long journey since…dead chuffed that your Solstice is finally with you and giving so much pleasure.

Your room is gorgeous too - with the sole exception of the massive TV (sorry, but I’ve never been a fan of big tellys). So nice to see your Solstice looking so lovely in situ, and sounding as good as you’d hoped.
The speakers look superb too. One day, I’ll hear a Kudos or two.

I’ll always - at this late stage - be a Linn Sondek Lover, but I have come more and more to like the look of the Solstice. Happy and fulfilling listening to you!

Some friends were over the other day and they are not ‘hi fi’ people at all but do appreciate nice furniture and design. They were rather enthralled with the Solstice tt. Opinions, of course, will vary.

He’s SUCH a chonk! …my wife never fails to defend him with “he’s just big boned!”

No Matt, just no :joy:

This scenario would probably give me a heart attack!

Good to hear you are (finally) enjoying your Solstice.

Cheers,

Ian

Congrats @MattCray and much relief all round no doubt, especially for Clare and the hapless Naim production/ distribution team. I hope you enjoy it for years to come!

:crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:@ChrisBell that your wait will soon be rewarded.

Why are you using a Beatles LP as a saucepan lid @Bart?
