New from Naim – Solstice Special Edition turntable

Any updates on if the vinyl is getting pressed, and included in new Solstice shipments?

dibs on getting a test pressing!

Curious who else is waiting on their Solstice order? Originally mine was supposed to deliver in the Fall, then December, then early 2022. I spoke with my dealer yesterday he and the distributer have no info on when it will ship. I’m six months into my order and I understand the challenges that Naim has. Never the less, the lack of information and clarity on delivery is becoming a bit frustrating.

Has anyone else received a shipping date for their order? I’m patiently becoming impatient. :joy:

The collections are only being allocated when the full sets are ready to ship, so apologies for any gap in information.

Will Naim break up the remaining units for spares and/or sell the bits separately if there are only say 400 of the 500 sold worldwide?

Seems like there would be plenty of interest in the new tonearm at least.

I would be surprised if there are any left unsold.

Still quite a few available and even a nice secondhand one still that’s not moved even though its brand new and £2k cheaper

Well even worldwide not many people spend £16k on a TT but they will go.

I suspect there will be some people out there who would like to buy one and already have a Superline, Supercap and a decent cartridge and therefore don’t want to pay for parts of the SE package they won’t use.
As far as Naim are concerned the units are all sold to dealers and distributors, its the dealers and distributors who have stock to sell.

I think the market currently for a Naim TT outside of Naim amp ownership is probably limited. Most people who want a TT have resorted to other options so 500 units of a £16k TT probably won’t have sold out straight away. Most dealers if asked to forward purchase a £16k anything would likely expect the stock to be sold over a period of time anyway. Most HiFi products are sold after a demo and as I believe it demo tables have not been around that long. Most Naim products are available with some discount anyway, the dealer margin allows this. £2k off a TT that is sold as second hand is probably not appealing when most people have a regular dealer they use anyway, especially if spending this money! I would want the extra warranty and to buy from my dealer. I would also get a bit of a deal. That SH TT for me is not a barometer of the interest.

Thought from the Naim end they are already sold to dealers and distributors…….the latter may have unsold units which is not surprising as their demo units were late.

All 500 units were sold out into distribution/retail within 10 days of launch.

Our priority remains getting those units as full collections into retail. There are no other plans until that project is completed.

Any one here who own the Solstice, had the opportunity to install the Linn Kandid?
In fact, my dealer tried to install it on my Solstice and unfortunately it turned out that the diameter of the metal tubes (that tied to tiny metal wires) whice coming from the Aro are bigger…
That’s frustrating…actually my previous Aro fit exactly…
Any suggestions?
Why Naim changed the diameter from the previous Aro?

So that the sound would be less constricted.

Gentilissima. I am writing to you in Italian because I am able to express better.
I am quite disappointed. I’ve been waiting for my Solstice for 6 months. I understand the difficulties of the moment I understand everything and everyone. I have also written to customer service. Only 1 has arrived in Italy. At this rate, mine will arrive towards the end of 2022. I don’t know if I’ll be able to wait any longer and I think my enthusiasm is failing. I’m thinking seriously about other brands. My regret is the silence surrounding the deliveries. The status of the order that a customer does not perceive. Silence hurts more than a thousand words. I repeat I understand the global difficulty I understand the difficulties of those who work with the pandemic around the corner. I am a former manager and I understand all the difficulties. But the transparency of intentions pays for every problem. Excuse me for my words, it is not my intention to offend anyone. Thanks Arlati

Forgive me Clare.
Next Wednesday the Italian representative will have a meeting with the marketing on the case. If I have any news about it, I will inform you, not publicly. I have respect for your work. Thank you
