So… let’s open a new topic for speculation of updated and new Naim products?
The Divas are not cheap, but the CI-102 is (comparatively) low budget. So it can likely show up in all integrated and streamers, except maybe the Muso line (like the current platform). The I/O updates (like GigEth, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, eARC) are likely a nice life-cycle management to stay (somewhat, though WiFI 7 is still brand new) up to date.
Given the NP800 is sufficient for hires-internet-stereo-streaming:
What could a stereo streamer use the additional CPU+DSP power for? Multi-room with many more rooms (CI and Diva advertise 32 rooms), room correction like in the Divas? Multi-channel (kind-of) like in the CI-102? Will we get a digital AV-amplifier with that platform? More reliable eARC connections?
What do we think the next Naim products with the new platform will be? And when?
NC200/300 just got renewed, Nova PE also uses the old platform.
“NSS555” to introduce it into the Naim ranges?
Listening to the longer video from Stereophile it sounded just a bland as these kind of systems often do. On the other hand it probably is more the choice of music and recording production esthetics that more makes me irritated than anything.
I like simple systems with more of an attitude so I wouldnt even demo this system. I have no idea how large market is for these systems, it probably is sensitive to brands. But Naim usually is clever enough to make this work so I would expert for it to do well.
