It certainly is Stuart - one of the most musical CD players ever made I think and the hinged perspex lid is still a beautiful and iconic design. Sadly mine is still awaiting repair as Naim have been a bit busy in recent months
Fortunately I’m pretty sure it’s just a capacitor that’s drifted as there’s an odd crackle/hiss on one channel and it did the same thing about 15 years ago which Naim fixed last time quite simply.
I bought a CD soundtrack only yesterday and miss being able to just put it on! Hopefully the CDi will be back in service soon…
The USB input only gives you a basic folder view where you would not expect to see any artwork, except in the play queue after you have selected some music where it should be visible.
In the Server input when viewing the same files the metadata should be browsable and artwork should be visible when browsing. If this is not the case there could be a problem with the way the metadata is stored that prevents the streamer from reading it.
I’m actually in a tree opposite the Naim hq spying any logistics and reporting it to various Naim aficionados who pay me for it. It’s patience what I play to kill time.
I’m sure there was something recently from Alpha PE, that there was some kind of rationalisation of the lineup from VAG and some ESG related guff. Something to do with 2’s and 3’s…Or did I just dream it?
We’ll it’s the 4th here tomorrow, though the product launch emails seem to come out in UK time and I’m not expecting it until Thursday morning. By which time the forum will be in meltdown.
