New Naim Internet Radio - Feedback & Requests - Part 2

Is RP Main Mix down…? Have’t been able to get for the last few hours…

Hi @S.C

From looking at the uptime logs, Radio Paradise Main Mix (FLAC) on their UK instance went down their end for about 4 hours on that day. The lossy streams worked fine during that time.

Not a Naim issue, Radio Paradise tech issue.

Yeah, seemed to be fine this morning when I tried again….
Typical bad timing having just done the App update…!:rofl:

Missing stations on my end that have been available so far and are marked as needing updating are:

  • ORF FM4
  • WNYC The Jonathan Channel
  • Audiophile Jazz

A post was merged into an existing topic: BBC Radio stations not working

Hi @Stevesky
This new radio project is an excellent move, but I can’t seem to find where to access all these hundreds of Hi-res radio stations on the Naim App. I’m sorry to ask such a dumb question, but maybe someone else is having a hard time as well.
I can’t help it … I’m Canadian, and gettin’ kinda old, I guess.

You won’t get the High Def stations on an NDS, you need a 2nd gen streamer.

Thank you for the reminder Chris, I have to update my profile. I now have a Uniti Nova, one of the last ones made.
It has the latest update, I believe, 3.10.0 as per info from HH.

In that case, go to the Internet Radio input and select Hidef where the lossless stations, along with some of the better lossy stations, have been listed.
If you browse stations elsewhere in the menu you will see the same stations there too, but mixed in with the dross!

Okay. I did that and selected the first station and it’s playing at FLAC 44/864. I believe that’s a lot higher res that usual?
Thanks.

It sounds good!

Now Miley Cyrus is playing on Absolut TOP radio at 48/1157. Not a big fan big she sounds nice.
What a great thing for Naim to do. That’s why I’m here.

Yes, @Stevesky seems to have been on a mission to generate interest in better sounding iRadio and cajole stations into offering higher quality streams in lossless FLAC, or at least higher bit rate AAC. I think it has made internet radio much better, and good enough in some cases for more than just background listening.

Agreed. Most excellent!
Cheers to @Stevesky

Still in production, I believe …!?

Oh, I didn’t know that. I guess I got it for a pretty good price then.
Thanks for the heads up.

Is there any further news on when this update will be available for 1st Gen MuSo?

Hi , I wonder would it be possible to add Smooth Jazz Florida to the new internet radio listing.
Many thanks

Hi Richard,

As someone who has previously posted negative feedback about the vtuner issues often affecting BBC radio I want to redress the balance somewhat by saying how pleased I am that Naim have now taken this service in-house. I have only been using it since the beginning of this week but look foward to a more reliable service in the future. I’m already appreciating the improved meta data providing track information on BBC radio 3 in particular.

Please pass on my grateful thanks to the relevant team at Naim.

Regards,

Rob Miller

@Stevesky will be reading this thread and, being the one who headed up the team here, will no doubt be delighted to pass on to them your message of appreciation.

Hi @Brianmac

One wish on the magic lantern now used up:

Enjoy!
