New Naim Internet Radio - Feedback & Requests - Part 6

Hi @castalla

This NDR one is a very slow moving journey unfortunately.

We have raised it with XPeri, who have raised it to NDR, who in turn go to ARD who have done the integration, but it has issues.

No guarantees but history says these things do get resolved but needs time and patience.

I have a status meeting on this and other subjects in a few weeks.

Steve

Thanks so much for the update :grimacing:

A few days ago I looked at the available podcasts for Denmark, Danmarks radio, p1 podcast.
The list is much showrter than what you will find both on the website and the dr app. I think this is the same issue that has been raised with what is available from bc sound compared to the focal app, but maybe the new radio service could update the ondemand selection?

Hi @Claus

Re: DR
The third party distribution feed doesn’t include all the content that they show in their app/website. Nor can we get access to the ondemand,

From a few spot checks we are showing what we are given. This is becoming a trend of broadcasters where they reserve content and features for their own apps, or make it accessible once an account is created.

iRadio drop outs
Radio Paradise frequently drops and gas to be re-tuned. This is happening several times per day using the new iRadio service.
I am using a Uniti2 which is wired to the router.
Any suggestions much appreciated as this is very frustrating

Previously my ND5XS used V Tuner an I was able to add stations not offered by V Tuner, ie World Fusion Radios Moonlight Meditation and a few others – can this be done via the new Naim/XPeri service?

Unfortunately, my added stations weren’t carried across to the new platform. Can I request the addition or is there a process where I can add the stations? Thanks

I’ve moved your posts over to the dedicated thread. Here you can ask @Stevesky to add any stations that you cannot locate.

I get exactly the same! Using a 272. I suspect I need to reboot etc - am hanging on for the new firmware as I had to reset everything last time I updated the firmware and lost all of my settings.

Hi @Somerset

That mentioned station is now added to USA. Details here:

Let me know the other station details and if we don’t have them already, we’ll add them,

Hi all,

Re: JB Radio2
The system flagged that this popular stream was down on lossy and lossless streams. Their website is also offline.

We’ll keep an eye on things and if they come back online will update the directory accordingly,

Hello Steve,

with the changeover to V 4.9, the transmission method of my ‘home station’ WDR2 was changed.

Instead of the previous method (MP3), the method was changed to HLS. unfortunately, this method no longer displays the music tracks being played. The connection also seems to ‘choke’ when logging in to the station on my uniti2, resulting in brief dropouts.

The same applies to the stations WDR4 and WDR5. Only the WDR3 station still runs with the MP3 protocol.

I would very much welcome it if all WDR stations were to use this protocol again in future. Is the changeover possible?

Kind regards

Peter8

Peter8, I’ve merged your topic with the appropriate feedback thread.

@Stevesky I just noticed that Riverside Radio is under United Kingdom / Eclectic, but it actually is a Dutch station.

Hi @whatu1tme2b

Now fixed. The River Radios are now in the relevant countries:

Hi @Peter8

With WDR we offer the ‘hd’ variant which uses HLS, but alsp expose the ‘sd’ variant which is the legacy MP3 stream.

On the older products (muso1, green screen streamers) they won’t play the HD variants properly, but the SD should be fine.

If you find one that doesn’t have the mp3 then let me know the exact one, but from a quick flick through they all seem to have one,
