Time for another monthly update on the internet radio service.
XPeri Extended Metadata Service - they suffered some downtime last month which affected the ability to play some stations. After analysis of what went wrong we have engineered a server side “kill switch” that binds the XPeri service and our together to minimise any downtime in the future.
NRJ Group, France - On 23rd August they switched off their aging system and replaced it with a new CDN. This affects about 400 stations in France, but also in various other countries that license the brand. Most stations are now operational, but around 100 are not as NRJ have broken their feeds (eg. eg. NRJ Morocco, NRJ Austria web feeds and various small islands). We’re keeping an eye on things and updating the directory accordingly. Note - NRJ, Nostalgie and Cherie used to be available to listen to in UK. This is now not the case and they purposely geo-block to the UK.
Otherwise, last month 131 new stations added, 624 modified to keep them running smoothly.
As a final note, the Bauer media group seem to win the award for early corporate Christmas. Magic Christmas, UK has started broadcasting on DAB+, so has also been added to the directory. Enough said.
