Most well designed pre-amps, phonostages and amplifiers should have no compatibility issues across the audio spectrum, in terms in input and output impedances.
Phonostages, well the common voltage amplifying ones, have settings to adjust the load & gain for the cartridge & cabling.
Sorry, my reply has been ‘adjusted’, probably being too helpful to the OP - the listed featured was for a company that sells ‘2ndHandHifi’ based in Newcastle. They are very good, I have bought and sold numerous items over the years.
Rega is bringing out a slightly higher spec model, which will be just MC. In the near future, they will be releasing an MM replacement for the Aria.
I tried an Aria but decided to go for the NVC.
I am currently having our new house remodeld and am trying my best to have as much as possible done to minimise any electric noise. When I upgraded to the new classics, all my Naim hum was almost gone, except when I played records (at medium to high volume levels). As the NVC is powered by the amp, i am hoping it helps with that step as well in the new home.
With a little bit of help I found exactly one place which mentions the MM version in two short sentences: ecoustics. com rega-aos-mc
And for MM users feeling left out, relax. An Aos MM version is on the way.
It’ll be a while, I guess. I checked the brand registry at High End Vienna and Rega isn’t on it. Nor are they on the list at AV Show in Warsaw. They are on the list at Dutch Audio Event, but I can’t imagine Rega doing an introduction of a brand new product there.
At under £1000 (and £500-600 used) Avid lets you experience what higher end phono pre amps would sound like. I’ve heard nothing better at this price range.
