New version of iPad app crops name…

Hi,
Pic is self explanatory…

Perhaps @Richard.Dane can highlight this to the right person at Naim…?

If you haven’t already done so, could you report to Naim support? support@naimaudio.com Thanks.

On a related note does anyone else have the following issue? I have contacted Naim support.

Doing a search of albums or artists etc on UPnP Servers the filter/search bar disappears. It still works but you cannot see what you are typing.

Other searches, such as Tidal are OK.

This is the same for both ND555 and Muso v2.

The same problem for both Minimserver and Synology server.

This is with iOS 17.6 and the Naim app v7.0 on both an iPhone and iPad.

Yes, I’ve seen this issue and reported it to Naim too, so they should have it logged as something that needs fixing.

I think it must be an absolute nightmare to design apps that work flawlessly on the huge number of compatible devices there are these days (assuming it doesn’t affect all iPads), especially iPhones/Android devices with the huge variety of screen sizes and resolutions produced over the years.

Would probably be worth saying which generation/type of iPad and also the iPad OS version.

I’m sure they’ll sort a fix.

Just noticed this version requires iOS 16 which is the last iOS version my iPhone supports.

Admittedly it’s quite old, but if feasible it would be nice to support older versions, or at least the last compatible version for the device assuming firmware updates don’t break anything with older versions.

That was useful, thank you!!

Checking I see my iPhone X can only run iOS V16 - its hardware doesnt allow V17.

Right… time to upgrade it soon then…!!!

My daughter and I are both on iPhone X and both need an upgrade when funds allow, mainly for security updates (hers has a cracked screen too but is still usable so trying to hold out until September).

I have an old Pioneer AV amp which had a great app maybe 10 years ago and am holding onto old iPhones to control it - must check if it is still supported but I suspect not.

I have an X, so am looking at an 11 or more likely 12. I finally catch my son up…!!!

I see there are various iOS updates. My phone has done it, my iPad and Apple TV are doing it now…!!

Wrong… He already has a 13…

Well, that’s what they get paid to do - just sloppy work. It never ceases to amaze me what software developers get away with these days.

When did they not get away with it? Software updates have been full of bugs since software was first updated… That’s how they keep their jobs. There’s always something to “fix”
