Nice layout at The Fitz in Cambridge.
Watching the watchers watching the watchers.
We pass one of the RHS gardens almost daily and visit regularly. We had seen the light fixtures scattered around the site, so we booked our tickets to their ‘Glow’ event.
Didn’t know what the expect but a cold but windless evening resulted in this
Being watched watching the watchers being watched watching the watchers being watched, to be fully correct.
Great shots, Sandy; the first one, in particular, is a stunner.
Cheers,
Ian
Lol, I might use that…
A bone-chillingly cold day in the local hills, with the ground frozen solid from glen level. The wind-chill was bitter but there was some wonderful light as the weak winter sun did its best to break through the cloud layers. Well worth the effort to get up there.
Straight to the heart of the sunrise
Fast enough not to freeze
Cairngorm vista
Late afternoon
Amazing icicles
Cheers,
Ian
Well deserved, Your shots are brilliant
That may be true, but try phoning home on your DSLR…
Thats a great photo, by the way.
…Oh stop it…
Please keep taking and sharing
Regarding your iPhone photo’s, do you use any aftermarket lenses ? and what’s your preferred photo editing app(s)
The phone ones are usually straight from without any other editing, which is why the colours are sometimes a little off and a phone really doesn’t handle The Sun very well. I don’t have any phone lenses.
Sometimes I put them through Lightroom first to correct colour or because the straightening/perspective tool is more effective (as indeed used for the one from The Fitz above).
Thanks for the prompt reply, I use Freewell lenses and their Sherpa kit, but for 99% of the time, its just the standard iPhone lenses, mines the 15 Pro max, photo editing, either the Apple app or Affinity Photo.
I have not owned a proper SLR / DSLR for at least 15 years but seeing what you and others post, am very tempted to purchase another, as obviously, while the phone is handy for taking instant photo’s, it’s not in the same league as a proper DSLR.
The move was more for family reasons but the warmer winters are definitely an added bonus! I liked Calgary’s proximity to the Rocky Mountains but I did miss the beaches in the Okanagan.
We only spent one winter in Calgary and the weather wasn’t so bad but I think we just got lucky last year. We did have a week of -40 but other than that it was near or above zero most of the time. Not sure I could ever do Edmonton though, colder and darker in winter and further from the mountains.
I particularly like the layers in "Cairngorm vista”: beautiful.

You’re probably better off going full frame mirrorless than DSLR. I must confess, I haven’t had the inclination to change the D750 that I’m used to.
Thanks for your advice, it just shows how long I’ve been away from the full sized camera game, mirrorless never entered my head, it’s something that I need to spend a bit of time catching up what outs there for what I will use it for.
Thanks,
Gary
That looks like Dalkey - I am just a little way further down the coast.
Brilliant!
