Took a trip out into Padstow Bay with Padstow Sealife Safari’s on Saturday, no expectations on what we would see but lots of hope, and for once hope came through.
All the smoke we are getting here in BC Canada is making for some interesting sunsets. This is tonights version.
This picture was taken at Arlington Court, a National Trust property near to Barnstaple.
The chick had been well hidden amongst the lily pads, it’s mum is telling it to put some Factor 50 sun cream on it’s head.
Baby Moorhens do look positively prehistoric…
And the crowd goes…

Interesting that a usb costs double that of a CD. That’s the AI driven surge in demand for memory hitting the streets of Cambridge then.
I wonder if the lady and gentleman on each side of your photo are recording him with their phones…… cheaper than a CD or USB stick!!!
Arlington Court is a really nice place to visit. A stately home where you feel that you could actually live.
It’s our local National Trust house. I’ve been there many times but have never been inside the house because I have the dog. The walks in the estate and the Carriage Museum are our favourite.
Fire Red Sunrise - Photo taken during an early monrning walk on Tuesday morning displaying the impact of the smoke filled air from the number of wild fires currently active in Washington State.
Great Blue Heron relaxing on one of the docks in LaConner, WA, resting on a dock next to the Swinomish Channel.
My wife in I went to visit the Quilting museum in LaConner, WA and then walked around the town and came across the heron. Relaxing after a full meal? …or just waiting for the next school to come swimming by…
Yes, the Carriage Museum is really good. Do they still have the Speakers’ Carriage (I think that’s what it was IIRC). I took several photos of it, then saw the notice saying don’t take photos. oops.
If you get a chance to go in the house, do - it is my favourite stately home.
